About Me

Ben is a Olympic Class World and European Champion sailor and Team GB Rio 2016 Olympian.   

 

Ben is the 2017 Nacra 17 World Champion. Ben is a full time athlete on the British Sailing Team, which he joined in 2011. Ben is one of the few distinguished sailors who can boast championship medals in two different Olympic classes after also winning a silver medal at the 470 European Championships in 2012.


 

Ben began school in Cambridgeshire, and achieved straight A's at A Levels, before completing a BSc degree in Management at the University of Southampton with a 2:1.  

 

Ben first raced the Optimist dinghy and the RS Feva becoming national champion in both. At youth level Ben raced both the 420 and 29er. Ben is also a  national champion in the J70 RS200 and Merlin Rocket,  plus at match racing and team racing disciplines.
